I built this Covin from scratch back in 2000 and carried out all the work myself in a simgle garage including painted it outside in the back lane of our old flat... As you do.
It took me 10 months to build and Soon after completing the build, I became the Covin Owners Club Technical Advisor back in 2001 and have since been heavily involved with the running of the club including creating the Covin Technical website and Forum www.covin.co.uk

The Covin is an almost exact replica of the Porsche 911 Turbo and many Porsche body panels/parts are interchangable. It uses it's own Chassis with VW Type 3 Running gear, choice of engines is vast but the most popular choices are VW Air-Cooled or the Ford CVH mounted to VW 4 Speed box via Adaptoplate.

SPECIFICATIONS of my Covin as follows.....

Correctly Registered as COVIN
Year: 1971 and Tax Exempt
Colour: Porsche Guards Red
Modified RS Turbo wiring harness to Porsche controls/switchgear
Tuned 170 BHP Ford RS Turbo engine
AVO Pro-race coil over suspension all round
Stainless braided brake lines
Porsche 17 inch Cup Alloys
Porsche Electric windows & central locking etc
Porsche Turbo Full leather interior with electric seats
Porsche instruments & Controls
Porsche glass all round
Porsche lights front/rear
Porsche teardrop mirrors
Home made in car heater system
Home made headlining
Own design rear mounted cooling system and intercooler
Own design aerodynamic undertrays to reduce underbody lift at speed and improve airflow over engine

This is how it started off

 Aww Shucks... Cheers matey.... Think I enjoy building them more than driving them. I've built 2 more since I built mine, one for my Wife and another for a friend of mine.

Now I'm up to my neck in muck welding up my Bus. That's a real nightmare   Can't wait till it's finished though
